Pancake Recipe

This is the most simple pancake recipe I've been using,

2 eggs

1/2 cup of sugar

1 cup of milk

2 cups of flour (all purpose flour)

1-2 teaspoons of baking powder

(depends on how fluffy you want them to be!)

Le Noeud Rose is my best friend's blog and even if her blog is still young she really loves it! So today I was in a creative mood and tweaked her layout a little! I've been reading short stories and magic little poems, drinking lots of tea (caught a cold!) and I've been willing to take some photos and make a December calendar to share with you! I'm also goIng to make a christmas list for presents and draw some cards for friends and family!

I've been lost for a while, trying to work things out in university and other annoying stuff but I'm so excited with buying books lately! (thanks to Waterstones Marketplace , they have great prices!). Today I got in my mail The Mysterious Benedict Society (illustrated by Carson Ellis ♥) and St Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves and don't know which one to start first! Some weeks before, I bought The Graveyard Book which was really cool, very Tim Burton-esque and The Book of Lost Things which has become one of my favourite books ever...!

Rachel Antonoff Spring 2012: Minnie Mouse & Wednesday Addams

I found the article about Rachel Antonoff's collection in NYFW through modaCycle & Habitually Chic and I was instanlty attracted to the designs, the artwork, the hair and the whole mood. She claims her inspiration was Minnie Mouse fused with Wednesday Addams - she'd had me at this line!! These charecters may be tottally irrelevant but Antonoff managed to work the magic! When asked to describe a typical night in the Antonoff Manor, fully illustrated by Alia Penner, she easily exclaimed “well, they’re getting ready to murder off their pets and they’re preparing their pet cemetery. I think they’re being really creepy in there.” Looking shy and innocent? I don't think so! Besides the whole idea behind the collection I think it is an amazing way to show off a collection instead of catwalk - more affordable for the designers, more creative for us!

Recipe Love: Banana & Strawberry Cakes!

I bookmarked these two recipes this week and I'm looking forward to try them - I don't know if I'll find any strawberries in September but I'll give it a try!! The first recipe was in italian so Google Translation help me write it down!

Strawberry Cake by Menta & Liquirizia

Ingredients:

200 gr. flour

150 gr. sugar

2 eggs

50 gr. butter

Yogurt

organic lemon peel, grated

1 packet of baking powder

a pinch salt

In a bowl, work the butter with the sugar, add one egg at a time, add the grated zest of lemon and salt. Sift in the flour and baking powder combining with the yogurt one at a time just until the mixture is quite thick. Pour into pre-buttered and floured pan. Halve the strawberries, place them on the surface of the cake and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at about 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Banana bread - gluten free by Brunch at Saks

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups gluten free all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder (Rumford is aluminum/gluten -free )
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 ripe bananas, mashed
2 eggs, room temperature
1 cup sugar (or agave/sugar sub would work)
1/2 cup canola oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract (or 1 scraped vanilla bean)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Gently whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in large bowl.
In a separate bowl, mash bananas and add in eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla. Mix well.
Pour wet ingredients into dry, and mix just enough until incorporated. Be careful to not over mix! Gluten free flours do best just barely incorporated, otherwise the final product will be spongy.

Pour into a parchent lined or greased bread loaf pan.

Cook 45 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.

Dancing in the Summer Forest!

Yesterday we grabbed some beautiful clothes, got our hair a little fixed and went with my two friends for a photoshoot in one of our city's forest! It was midday and the sun was high but we were in the mood and had a great time!

It was so hot and we got really tired but at least some of the photos turned out really good! As you can see, I've also changed my hair to a more natural warm brown! You can see some more in my flickr! My skirt and the lilac dress are made by Helene!

Camping time!

This weekend I went camping with my boyfriend in Sani,that has the most amazing beach! We put our tent in the most isolated place of the camping,with trees all around,the atmosphere was just splendid! It was full of little kids,really beautiful restaurants and huge parks and gardens near the - seriously expensive - hotel.

I also took a lot of photos with my Superheadz camera! The first roll is finished and I can't wait to get it developed! I hope I can have some days off again in August, I miss spending whole days just sitting around,having fun and being crazy in love...!

Today I came across (via Frankie magazine) this little new band from Perth called Wolves at the Door. It's somewhere between dark folk,alternative and psychedelic: songs that you would listen to on the porch of an abandoned house, covered in cobwebs but also lying on the grass with the trees above your head. Their ghosty voices pull you in deeper and deeper into a haunting world where you'd be happy to live in purgatory.They've just released their new EP digitally - give it a listen,I for one won't stop listening to them for the whole day.

I've been lost for a while again.. exams are finally over and at last it feels like I have all the time in the world for myself. I started reading books again,and I feel like I can write again too..! I have no plans for vacation but I guess I'll be going very often to the sea or taking trips for a few days. I feel peaceful and optimistic, the sun shines even at the darkest corners...!

I've been listening to new music,reading new magazines,reading new books,it feels like July will be a total renewal after the cruel spring...! I also dyed my hair even red-er last week,it looks like Florence Welch'!! :D

I want to take hundrends of photos,go to the Luna Park,buy antiques,paint,read classics and books I wished to read,take long walks in beautiful places,develop as many rolls of film as I can,swim,tan,play and laugh and have the best time in years..!

art prints,though I have to say that I'd prefer to make something like that myself instead

I saw this truly beautiful photoshoot posted by electric and had the idea of turning them into drawings.My first thought was too print them and paint them with watercolors.

After doing that with Akvis,I corrected them in Photoshop where I got this other idea that turned out to be the last two versions of each photo! I don't know what you think,but I really loved the result!!

At last I got my black & white film developed! It wasn't very succesfull as most of the photos were ruined by big light leaks but the few ones that came out well are really pretty! Yesterday my best friend and I went for a kind of photoshoot,basically in order to show her new creations: the blue velvet cape I'm wearing and the Alice-inspired hearts skirt that Helene is wearing!! The cape is on sale, so hurry up (the first cape she made was gone in minutes!) and head to Le Noued Rose for more details!

The weather was pretty windy and at that time it was starting to getting cold but luckily,the sun was still shining! Oh,and I forgot to mention that I'm a redhead too now!! I dyed my hair the previous weekend and most comments and I love the color so much!

At first I thought my hair was too short to do milkmaid braids but then I tried it and it worked!! I was so excited, I think I'm gonna wear my hair like these really often!! Easy and beautiful!

Before some days I got these two great cameras! The Zorki 4 from my grandfather and the Zenit TTL from my uncle! They both seem to work perfect,I loaded them with film and I'll start taking photos! I guess I 'll have to see the photos to decide which one I prefer but I tend to prefer the zenit more..! Now that I have both digital and analogic cameras,I'm ready to start learning seriously photography..!!

Hello! I'm sorry I'm not posting frequently these days but I guess there's been some lack of inspiration..!
GOOD NEWS is that I'm getting and old Zenit camera from my grandpa!!! I hope it works fine because I really wanted
to find an old camera,even if it looks like shit,but (as I've read) Zenits are really good!!
GREATEST EVER NEWS is that with my boyfriend we're planning on going to London
after Christmas and before the New Year's Eve... I'm SO excited with this that I want to plan everything from now!!

I was away for some days,went for a little vacation,had an amazing time and now I'm back!
